Donald L. Colbert, 85, of Houston Texas was born on April 3, 1932 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and was raised on the family farm outside Emerado, ND. He passed away on May 14, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

He attended Central High School in Grand Forks and the University of North Dakota receiving a degree in electrical engineering. Shortly after graduation he was on active duty in the Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Donald spent the rest of his working career in the Air Force Civil Service at Kelly Air Force...

Donald L. Colbert, 85, of Houston Texas was born on April 3, 1932 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and was raised on the family farm outside Emerado, ND. He passed away on May 14, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

He attended Central High School in Grand Forks and the University of North Dakota receiving a degree in electrical engineering. Shortly after graduation he was on active duty in the Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Donald spent the rest of his working career in the Air Force Civil Service at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Mr. Colbert is preceded in death by his wife Gwendolyn Colbert of Northwood, ND, both of his parents, Raymond and Bernice Colbert and his sister Bonnie Hawkinson. He is survived by his brother Gerald Colbert; children, Rhonda Colbert Ryan & husband James Ryan II, Jason Colbert & wife Betty, and Charlotte Colbert; grandchildren, Douglas A. Colbert & wife, Allison, and James Ryan III and great grandchild, Jordan Colbert. Mr. Colbert as well as many extended family in North Dakota, Arizona, Colorado and Washington.

Friends and families are invited to the graveside services for Donald L Colbert, which will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
