Shirley Ann Easterly Krakosky was born on April 12, 1930 in Houston, Texas and went to be with Jesus on August 6, 2017 in Houston, Texas at the age of 87. Shirley was baptized on May 25, 1930 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Houston, by Pastor John Behnken. She was confirmed in her Christian faith on March 25, 1945, also at Trinity by Pastor Oliver Harms; her confirmation bible verse was 2 Peter 3:18.

Shirley graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, Texas. On June 7, 1958, Shirley and Charles Krakosky were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas by Pastor Louis Pabor. Shirley was a loving wife who was always by her husband's side. She led a very active life but due to a car accident when she was an infant, Shirley was not allowed to drive a car -- but this didn't stop Shirley! She sold Avon on foot for over thirty years; she even delivered Avon products via wheelbarrow. Shirley had many interests, one of them was the love of basketball. She was an excellent housekeeper and very particular about her home. She attended a weekly bible class and was a member of a quilter's group that made quilts for the homeless. One of Shirley and Charles favorite pastimes was entertaining friends at their home. They loved to invite couples to dinner and afterwards play cards and reminisce. It's been noted that Shirley was a very positive person; no matter what obstacles she faced, she always had a smile on her face.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Alma Easterly, brother, Boyd Easterly, sister-in-law, Ruth Tschatschula and husband, Clarence, brother-in-law, Milton Krakosky and wife, Leona, and brother-in-law, Harry Hempel. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 59 years, Charles Krakosky, sisters-in-law, Ellen Easterly Bosworth and Marion Hempel. Shirley is also survived by nieces, Cyndi Hollmans, Judy Anderson and Beverly Peters and nephews, John Easterly, Ronnie Krakosky and Dean Krakosky as well as countless friends and acquaintances.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077 on August 9, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on August 10, 2017 at 1:30 pm at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 8601 Chimney Rock Road, Houston, TX 77096.
